At 4pm today, nine days following the resignation firing pushing aside of Dave Wannstedt, and thus ending The Fighting Wannstaches, a new era of Pitt football begins…The Mike Haywood Era. Haywood, a Golden Domer during the unfortunate Gerry Faust years and a year of Lou Holtz (84-86 WR/DB), has served as an assistant at several [...]
It appears that Pitt’s coach opening has made its way onto Craigslist. Real or not, it makes for a good time… http://pittsburgh.craigslist.org/npo/2112581217.html (h/t to @PittTailgateVan)

Opponent: Cincinnati Bearcats (4-7, 2-4 BIG EAST). Kickoff: Saturday, December 4th, 12:00pm. Mascot: While the mascot doesn’t appear to have a name, he has an interesting history…and by interesting we mean lame. In 1914, Cincinnati did not have a mascot, but they did have a star player named Baehr and were playing the Kentucky Wildcats. [...]
